Here are my girls. They are growing so fast and we are just cruising along.

They have been super cute lately. They play together pretty good.

Ruby is an amazing baby. We can leave her alone to play by herself for hours. She is so content and happy, it's amazing!

I have really missed going to the Mitton 24th parties. And with good reason, they are super cool! We go on horse rides, sing careoki, dance and play games.

I love my girls. Millie is super fun to play with and Ruby is super sweet and growing like a weed. We fake broke our TV so Millie would have to play more and watch TV less and it has been so great. She has the funniest imagination. I could watch her play all day!

We had a great time with the Bucc's this last weekend. It was especially nice to watch the girls play together. Life is great.

Ruby is already 3 months now! We are so lucky to have her as an addition to our family.

She is such a good baby.

She is very social and always want to be able to see what everybody else is doing. She wants to be held constantly to be part of the action).

She still sleeps amazing at night, but not so great during the day.

She still loves to eat every 2 hours and is getting chubbier by the minute. Her cheeks are starting to compete with Millie's but not up to her standards quite yet.

She smiles, coos, laughs, and is a very sweet girl!

The best part about our basket ball court is drawing on it with sidewalk chalk! Good times.

Millie had her 2nd birthday over the weekend. First thing we did was go out and buy her a car. Yep, that's how we roll. Most affluent parents buy their children cars when they're 15 or maybe even 14 but our little princess deserves it now. I guess casey will have to drive it for now but as soon as she turns 16 it'll be there for her.

We also went bouncing at classic fun center. Ghetto I know but she loves it. we also ate her favorite food (pizza) at the park and casey stuffed her full of cookies, candy, and popsicles all day since normally we're pretty conservative about that. We kept it chill and low key since we're having a party for her this weekend. When asked what she wants for her birthday she says a piñata (pronounced perfectly with a spanish accent) and party hats.

Casey is the photo guy so he'll post a few pictures of the day later, and of course a picture of her new car.

Here's a list of things about Millie so I don't forget her at this age. She is so much fun and keeps us smiling and laughing constantly. We absolutely adore her. It's a long list so you can stop right here and I won't be offended.

~She is constantly talking and singing . . .constantly. if we didn't find it adorable, we might think it was annoying. She loves singing the ABC song, twinkle twinkle, old mcdonald, ba ba black sheep, the wheels on the bus, and the clean up/birthday song mix. She knows a lot more but those are her top favorites. She also loves 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed. She loves when we sing with her. If one of us is not singing (usually casey) she'll say "sing daddy"

~ Casey and I think she is pretty hilarious. Every parent thinks their child is funny but really Millie has an advanced sense of humor, we had her tested.

~ Whenever anyone make a mistake or does something silly she calls them a "silly turkey".

~ whenever we ask her a question and her answer is yes, instead of saying yes she does a little laugh.

~ I'm not proud of it but she is quite tech savvy. She can maneuver my iphone and ipad better than my parents. Oh wait, that's not saying much. Anyway she figures out how to navigate apps super fast. She still loves dora, baby einstein, and mickey mouse club house.

~ She loves reading books. Her favorites right now are green eggs and ham and the 5 little monkey books. I'm excited that she has finally graduated from the simple board books with just a few words and her attention span is longer.

~ She's a great big sister although lately she says "Ruby down" quite often. But she also let's us know right away when Ruby is crying "ruby hungry" or when ruby is just fine "ruby happy!" she also says "I want to hold it" a lot too.

~ She sometimes squeezes her cheeks and says in a deep voice "Hi my name's millie and I love cupcakes".

~ She is so sweet, loving, affectionate, and funny. Unfortunately when she's around strangers or someone she's not down with she gets an attitude and her social skills fly out the door. Because of this I think she gets a bad wrap of being winey, unfriendly and uptight. You just have to fight your way into her inner circle and then you can really appreciate her. Her favorites are her parents of course and then her grandmas.

~ She is a very picky eater and her food consumption consists of about 5 staples that I am too embarrassed to mention. Let's just say we give her vitamins and V8 fusion to help compensate.

~ ever since she learned how to walk she has never just walked but runs everywhere she goes. It's cute but she ends up falling on her face and scrapping up her legs a lot.

~ if she knows she's done something wrong or that she's hurt us or our feelings she'll say i'm sorry and kiss us without us having to ask.

~ Whenever we are driving away from our house she says bye bye to everything she likes (bye bye new house, horsey, jared's house, nanette's house, suzanne's house). She does this when she's going to bed too.

~ Dislikes - getting her hair done, changing her diaper or cloths, not getting enough attention because of ruby, vegetables or pretty much almost all food. People getting in her face, touching her, or looking at her if she doesn't want them to.

~ likes - looking for big trucks, buses and weewoos (fire trucks) while we're in the car, popsicles, and tackling and wrestling with her daddy, she likes all the basic stuff kids like at her age like parks, going on walks, playing with her baby dolls, dumping things out of containers and putting them back in, opening and closing doors. She used to hate holding our hands but know she really likes it. This makes us happy. She still loves weird things like sparkling water and black licorice. Oh her new love is coconut water, but it's too expensive so I don't give it too her that often.

Ok, I could go on and on obviously. There's a million things she does that we get a kick out of and a million things we want to remember about her right now. Anyway, pictures to come.

Ruby's 1 Month

At one Month Ruby is a great baby!

She currently likes eating, growing and sleeping.

She has been sleeping for about 5-7 hours at a time at night, so we really can't complain.

Millie is liking her more and more. She is saying 'awww she's cute'. We love that.

We're doing good and taking advantage of the time I have off. Ruby has been a good little trooper as we've drug her to seven peaks, discovery gateway, hikes up the canyon, and visits to family and friends. Millie loved watching fireworks this year with cousins and friends and even held a sparkler. Alisa has more energy that I do and is just straight up amazing!

Its been a great few days so far. We've seen a lot of family in small doses and slept very little.

Weekend in St. George

We had a great weekend in Southern Utah with the Hosenfelds. Kolob canyon was beautiful and its a great place to stop and stretch your legs.

We all liked our bike ride though Zion. The temps were perfect, the trees were all green, Millie talked and laughed the entire time. She loved it so much.

So clearly it get harder to photograph kids the older they get. Also it feels like I should do video more because of how funny she is. So I've been doing more of that. And I really don't post them that often b/c I think they would be boring to everybody but me and Alisa.

But trying not to suck at being a photographer dad, we went to Trolley Square today and I snapped a few pics of Millie. She runs not stop so it is challenging. I should have taken a fester lens I guess. There's always next time.

At 18 months Millie is talking a TON. She says and knows so many words that I don't think I could even count them. She is always making jokes, loves wrestling, scarring people/being scarred, reading, sleeping and long walks on the beach.

I've spent the past few days with Millie, trying to make up for the 8 I was out of town. We've had some fun.
I don't like sitting around so we went to the climbing gym to run around and then after being beat up by the other kids at Chick fil A we went to Liberty Park (yesterday) and Fremont Park (today).

The News

It's true. I know that many of you know because I haven't kept it a secret very well, but Alisa has and we just need to make it official because people are finding out in weird ways at this point.

Due date is mid June!

That might be why we have had less photos on this blog. Millie is a little hard to photograph by myself at her current state.

8th Anniversary

Another year gone by and another anniversary celebration! Our anniversary tradition is to take the long treacherous journey all the way to Vegas in search of adventure. Vegas is just as romantic as Paris, in case you didn't know. Okay that's not true at all but there's not a whole lot of options if you're on a budget and it's winter. Anyway, we had a fun long weekend of relaxing, watching movies, walking around, and eating really yummy food. Casey had his adventurous craving satisfied by mountain biking and climbing. My cravings were satisfied by eating at all my favorite places and munching on treats from Trader Joe's in between.

Sorry about not posting for a little while. We have been pretty busy and I have not been pulling photos/videos to load. Plus I'm not sure how I want to upload videos. Do I edit them first, with transitions and effects like my photos? I want to but it just takes longer for me right now.

We are having a wonderful Christmas break. Millie loved opening presents and is still loving playing with all of her toys. I expected her to just play with the boxes and wrapping paper, so that was good.

I have some time off so we have just all been hanging out around home and playing. Millie has been pretty adorable most of the time.

Finally walking

After pretty much refusing to walk, Millie got out of bed on Sunday and walked across her whole room. Then we got to church and she walked down the whole row. Then she walked all over the entrance of our church during Sunday School. And I'm pretty sure she loved it. She'll always give us this look like, 'I'm going for it'. Then she runs off squealing.

It's pretty cute to see her excited about running around.

She has been running while pushing one of these around for a while. But it will be nice to not have her crawling around dirty restaurants.

Millie is getting pretty mobile and is loving emptying out every container, cupboard, or drawer that she can find. She still has some serious stranger anxiety, but at home she is miss independent. Wandering from one spot to the next trying to figure out where everything is and how she can bring mass havoc and destruction everywhere she goes. Now we just need to figure out how to get this little lady to walk, then things can be even more chaotic!

Millie's life right now:

~ loves walking while holding on to our hands. she could do this all day and be content. she gets really mad if I make her sit down, all she wants to do is walk. Lately she has starting walking with the assistance of her little car, thank goodness.

~ She cruises around on all the furniture and has taken multiple steps on her own. She could walk full on but she's not interested. She is a speed crawler and that works just fine for her. I bet she wonders why anyone would be stupid enough to walk when they could crawl just as fast.

~ loves balls, dogs, sparkling water, black licorice, and showers.

~ gives the best open mouthed kisses. Besides people she kisses her stuffed animals, dolls, glow worm and our phones. That's right, our phones.

~ crawls around everywhere and gets into everything. She takes everything out of our drawers and cupboards. Our house is always a mess.

~ is very opinionated and knows just what she wants. If things don't go her way she can throw an impressive tantrum. Ask Casey to do an impersonation, it's pretty dead on. I'm trying not to raise a diva but man, she's got an attitude!

~ can say dad, ma ma, ball, duck, bob, backpack, map, boots. She can also repeat lots of words.

~ is the best sleeper ever! 12 hours straight at night and a 3 hour nap during the day. Thank you!

~ shakes her head no to just about everything and everyone.

~ has some major stranger and separation anxiety. She gets really mad if anyone besides me or Casey tries to hold her, pick her up, touch her or even look at her. She swats them away and is not very polite about it. There are a few people she will tolerate but not many.

~ Her two most favorite things are hanging out with her cousin Ethan and watching Dora. She also loves going on bike rides and playing outside.

~She is obsessed with Dora hence the words she can say. This is mostly my fault but not all of it. I need to start weening her off of it. She throws tantrums when she wants to watch it and I won't let her.

~ Has about 8 teeth. I'm not really positive because she doesn't like me looking. It was not a fun experience when 6 of them came in at the same time.

~ thinks she's pretty funny and will laugh at herself.

~ growls like a bear to scare us.

~loves listening to music and dancing. She likes to do this first thing every morning, and every evening before bed.

~ is either super sweet full of laughs and smiles, or she is over dramatic and emotional throwing a tantrum.

Tantrums or not, she is still stinkin' cute and we love her to pieces.

Wheeler Farm

I was reading Millie some animal books the other day and she was acting a little more interested, so I decided that we need to head off to see some of these animals that we have heard so much about.

It's weird to me that she will not really ever be on a farm because I grew up playing on both of my grandparents farms and loved it. I went to the hospital at least 12 times because of those awesome experiences. It's things like driving trackers when your 8, or driving trucks with your cousins pushing the clutch while you drive the steering wheel and shift because you can't reach the pedals, and jumping four-wheelers that mold kids.

On the other hand, I haven't seen too many kids around that have lost limbs due to farming accidents like I use to when I was a kid.

It has been a great summer filled with many Liberty Park trips. We love it, it's super close, its huge, full of water features, swings and birds (Tracy Aviary).

Here are a few pics from a few weeks ago.

Millie loves this little room at Tracy Aviary full of birds. Especially this little guy to the right. He did nibble her finger shortly after this photo, but I think she forgives him.

She also like to drink the gross water that comes out of these fountains.

This is her bear crawl that she has been doing for the past few weeks. She has walked a little bit, but really sees no point in it. We try to get her to do it, but she just sits down as soon as she realizes what we're up to.

This kind of sums up what happens at breakfast. Playing while eating, fighting the food, fighting with all her might as she gets her face wiped off, take a minute to forget why she was fighting, find something else to play with in the room. Then its all smiles until the next round.

Back from Dana Point

We just got back from seeing some of Alisa's extended family in Dana Point, California. It was good to see them since we don't get to see them very often. It was also really great to spend time with Alisa.

We also surfed, got burned, and went to the Getty in LA. Great trip guys!

Millie really didn't like the cup cake. I think she liked the candle because of the texture. The real birthday treat was having her own ice cold Perrier (mineral water).

It was a pretty lazy weekend. We mostly just hung out and took huge naps. Millie is crawling all over the place and is getting pretty good at walking while holding onto our hands and pulling up on stuff.

Not that her technique is solid, but it is pretty funny to watch her try to figure it out.

School is finally over! Today started Millie and I's summer of fun together! We're going to get some major bonding time in. We haven't been doing too much lately, just hanging out. But we're going to go crazy this summer if anyone would like to join us. I'm sure we'll have to visit Casey at work a lot so he doesn't feel left out.

If anyone has ideas of what I can do with Millie that she would like, let me know.

I'm also super excited because I got a new job for next school year! I love it when things just work out in the end the way they are supposed to. All that worry and stress is over (at least for right now). I get to keep working part time which I am very happy about. It's in the Canyons district and I'll be helping teachers with their assessments, analyzing data, and setting up interventions. I think that's what I'm doing at least, I'm not really sure yet. I'm so excited for a change and to take a break from the classroom. Now all we need to do is sell our house! Any takers?

Here are a few pics of Amelia. She is getting huge! She is so close to crawling. I know she can do it she just hasn't found the right motivation yet. She is finally saying ma ma a lot and lots of other fun sound combinations. She's just super cute and fun as always.

This little girl has tons of attitude.

Amelia has been teething lately and got two teeth! Unfortunately it has not been a fun experience for her, she was pretty wrecked during the whole thing. That could also have to do with the fact that she was sick with a bad cold too. Here is Millie trashed and miserable from teething and a fever while at the park.

Kind of a train wreck.

We always have fun at home after work. It's nice to just play with her and enjoy her. She's feeling better, can you tell?
